SALMA is a modular and flexible system designed to automate stocking, storage, sorting, and order-picking processes. By using AGVs, AMRs, ACRs, and an automated depalletizer, the system significantly increases the efficiency of warehouse processes by increasing the speed of sorting and transporting goods, and at the same time reducing errors in order picking. Above all, the system relieves warehouse staff from manually placing and picking containers in and out of racking shelves and moving them across the whole warehouse.  SALMA is a customizable solution, designed and expanded depending on specific applications. The system consists of the following devices that automate transport, storage, and depalletization:

ETISALMA is a Warehouse Execution System that coordinates the operation of an automated warehouse in real time, and monitors stocking, sorting, and delivery processes. It serves as a link between the warehouse automation system and the customer’s ERP software. ETISALMA coordinates several streams of various logistics carriers that are required to complete each order:

• generates missions for the IntraFleet robot management system,
• manages order picking for high-rack pallet storage,
• manages order picking from LeanLift storage,

The depalletizer unpacks pallets of finished goods that arrive from the production hall in plastic containers. The KUKA robotic arm fitted with a KLT container gripper picks up containers one at a time and places them on roller conveyors. It allows two pallets to be unloaded simultaneously onto two conveyors. A vision system mounted on the robot makes it possible to pick up containers that are not always perfectly aligned on the pallet. The other vision system scans each container that is being picked up and enters its unique number into the system. Labeling the containers with a number and a 2D code ensures full control over incoming containers and makes it possible to track and locate them in the warehouse.

The ACR IntraBot Picker robots carry out tasks related to the transportation of warehouse containers. The IntraBot Picker robot autonomously pulls up to the conveyor, picks KLT containers, carries them to the storage area, and then places them on the appropriate shelves or carries them to the picking stations.  The mobile robot can carry up to 7 KLT containers with a maximum weight of 25 kg.

The robot’s distinctive feature is the vision system which enables the IntraBot Picker to precisely move and position itself against the racks and other warehouse infrastructure. Utilizing the vision system, the robot also confirms that it is picking a load with the correct ID number.

The IntraBot Fork autonomous forklift trucks are responsible for transporting pallets. The self-driving forklift trucks carry pallets of finished goods to depalletizing stations. The IntraBot Fork  carries out collision-free transport of products on pallets, collaborating with people and warehouse infrastructure. It includes an advanced safety system that consists of, among other things, a range of sensors that provide information about encountered objects, approaching workers, and the presence of load.

Automatic pallet warehouses, where empty pallets are delivered and picked up, constitute complementary infrastructure for autonomous forklifts.

The IntraFleet 4.0 software for managing AMRs, AGVs, and ACRs. The IntraFleet fleet management system makes it possible to design logistics processes and manage the movement of robots, taking into account the infrastructure of the production hall and warehouse, as well as employees moving around. Based on the information it receives about transport and knowing the current status and location of all autonomous vehicles, the IntraFleet system prepares a schedule of logistics missions.
